For the first time in years, I’m without a plan. We never did the Easter bunny (or toothfairy,
or Santa, or any other fictional character) and we haven’t done Easter baskets
for several years either. Typically we
just have candy, go to church, and then go to my parents for a family Easter
dinner and Easter Egg hunt. But now that
they are almost 77 and 78, they tell us it’s too hard on them to host all of
us. <sigh> I was wondering when that would happen. And since they are singing in the Church’s
Easter Cantata, they don’t think they have time to come to one of our
houses. So it’s the end of an era… but also
the beginning of one. It’s our chance to
develop new traditions.
At this time, Todd and I are doing the Four Hour Body
Diet. It’s a high protein low carb
diet. Very healthy since you are
encouraged to each low glycemic veggies like broccoli, spinach, Onions and lots
and lots of beans… we let ourselves have some red peppers, too. Each week you take 1 day off. Easter Sunday will be our day. As I think about what to have for Easter
dinner… I want pasta and someone suggested Chicken parmesan so there we have
it. Todd would like to have his family
over … but I think I need to check with my family first (since they are
displaced for the holiday).
In the meantime, I’m figuring out how to work (practice for
summer) with 4 kids home. Isn’t that
hilarious to even attempt? It’s a good
thing my job takes minimal time, is flexible, and FUN!
On another note, I can’t find my bottle of Vitamin D. It disappeared from my nightstand. I need to get more of that to protect me from
my MS and from cancer. Plus it has a
mood enhancing effect so when mommy doesn’t get her Vitamin D, she’s cranky.
LOL
